You probably already know which country has the best and most powerful navy. But aren’t you curious which countries are right behind THAT country? 
Since the sea was navigable, it has been contested, and the ability to project naval strength across oceans is defining feature.
The list below, based on data compiled in Global Firepower’s 2018 world navy ranking by number of offensive & defensive assets they have.

10.Taiwan (Republic of China Navy)

The Republic of China Navy has significantly improved its naval defense technology over the past two decades, primarily by buying US ships.
They also got some warships from other countries. Taiwan can also construct its own vessels, too.
The Taiwanese Navy comprises nearly 38,000 operational personnel with over 100 active ships which includes over 4 destroyers, 20 frigates, 31 boats with missiles, two submarines, 12 patrol boats, one corvette, nine minesweepers, 10 auxiliary warships, 10 amphibious ships, and 28 aircraft.
The ROC’s primary task is to protect its surrounding waters and territories against a possible blockade, attack, or invasion by the People’s Republic of China.
It is obvious that the Chinese navy is far more powerful than Taiwanese, However, if both countries are engaged in maritime warfare, you can count on Taiwan to fight well.
This deployment protects the Taiwan Strait and adjacent seas by naval exercises and counter-strike wartime counter-invasion activities.
The Taiwanese navy competed for the 10th spot on this top 10 navy in the world list with the Indonesian navy.
There are twice as many active personnel and considerably more ships in the Indonesian navy but most of their warships are limited to seafarers while the Taiwanese navy is deployed for more than that.
Another powerful player that we could not include among the most powerful navy in the world was a Turkish navy, which has a large coastal fleet and is primarily designed to operate in the Mediterranean region.

There is a naval fleet with some 31,000 personnel in the Italian Navy (officially Marina Militare Italiana). In the Italian navy, they operate warships of all kinds.

The Republic of Korea Navy is South Korean Armed Forces’ Naval Service Branch, responsible for naval and amphibious landing activities.
South Korea’s navy has been constantly improving since the 1990s, just like Taiwan.
But as opposed to the Chinese Navy, they manufactured almost every vessel operated by the Korean Navy on homeland and major South Korean firms designed the rest such as Hyundai and Daewoo.
South Korea has about 70,000 active personnel which is much more than combined forces of our predecessors Italian Navy and Republic of China (Taiwan).
It comprises sixteen submarines, one amphibious assault boat, six landing vessels, eight landing crafts, and 12 destroyers, 13 frogs, 16 corvettes, 11 mine anti-patrol vessels.
Besides, there are approximately 70 aircraft in the Republic of Korea Navy.
South Korea needs a powerful military to protect itself from it’s neighbor’s sea-based attacks with a threat of Northern Korea always on the horizon.
Thankfully, since the Korean War, the South Korean economy has slowly been increasing, allowing the government to use modern military equipment with a large amount of money.

 The British Navy is officially known as the Royal Navy. The Royal Navy was the world’s strongest navy from the mid-18th century.
