10. Delhi Cantonment
Despite being called Delhi’s safest neighborhood, Delhi Cantonment is not immune to terrifying entities. It is said to be the most haunted location in Delhi. According to the legend, people in this area have seen the most stereotypical type of ghost or spirit. The alleged spirit appears to be a woman dressed in a white saree standing on the roadside around midnight, asking drivers for a lift. When this is denied, the spirit is said to run alongside the car at a rate that would put even Michael Schumacher to shame. According to legend, a lady was killed while hitchhiking her way somewhere, and she has now returned as a ghost. Though it is difficult to understand why she chose to hitchhike in a white saree, and if she didn’t, then kudos to her for sticking to the official ghost attire.
9. Ramoji Film City
This one is haunted in a cinematic style, so it lives up to its name. Ramoji Film City, a popular filming location, has witnessed everything from actors admitting to seeing “strange figures” to noticing weird things in the mirror while getting ready for any shoot and lightmen complaining of an invisible force attempting to push them down. After the sun goes down, security guards at Ramoji Film City become a little more cautious because the location is said to be haunted by the spirits of soldiers who died here during the Nizams’ reign of terror.

Until a few years ago, the location was unknown and unrecognized until a film director became intrigued and decided to make a horror film there. The cast and crew gathered around it and decided to film in the area, but they soon encountered paranormal activity on the set. Another mill mystery is the sudden fire that destroyed the mill in 1982. The Mukesh Mill in Mumbai is shrouded in mystery. The mysteries surrounding the mill remain unsolved to this day.
7. Terra Vera, Bangalore
The old, deserted mansion Terra Vera is undeniably one of Bangalore’s most terrifying locations. EJ Vaj, who had two daughters, Dolce and Vera, built the house in 1943. Dolce, a piano teacher, was stabbed to death in 2002 by an unidentified assailant, who buried her body on the premises. Vera left the house after her sister died, leaving behind all of her valuable possessions, including a vintage car and furniture. Since then, occult symbols such as inverted crosses, strange sounds, and eerie sights have become common in the house. Those who went inside the house to photograph the car and furniture returned with dead batteries and corrupted images. Even though the haunted house has been demolished, paranormal activity continues on the grounds where the manor once stood.
6. Dumas Beach, Gujarat
Dumas Beach, located along the Arabian Sea, is one of Gujarat’s most haunted locations. The beach is famous for its black sand and the fact that it is haunted! Dumas Beach is said to be haunted by several haunting spirits who never left the area because it was once used as a Hindu burial ground. According to folklore, black sand is due to the amount of ash produced by the burning of the dead, which mixed with the white sand of the beach and turned it dark in the shade. According to reports, several people have gone missing from this haunted beach. No one can really explain why so many mishaps occur on the beach.
5. Lambi Dehar Mines, Uttarakhand
Lambi Dehar Mines, located in Mussoorie, is thought to be one of the most haunted places in Uttarakhand. Thousands of workers became ill daily in the 1990s due to a lack of proper maintenance and safety rules. There were no precautions taken to maintain the workers’ rapidly deteriorating health. A minor miscalculation resulted in the deaths of 50,000 workers. They continued digging lime in the suffocating environment and began coughing blood, which choked them to death. Following this horrifying incident, the mine was closed down, and the locals abandoned the area and moved on. The story, however, does not end here. Those workers’ cries can still be heard late at night. Furthermore, it is believed that a witch still occupies the location and roams the grounds. Mysterious car and truck accidents and helicopter crashes are thought to be the work of that witch. People in this mine have been on high alert due to shrieking cries and dreadful activities. Locals even advise visitors to stay as far away from the area as possible to avoid mishaps.
4. Three Kings Church, Goa
The Three Kings’ Church is Goa’s most haunted location. It is named after the three kings who went to Bethlehem to see Lord Jesus at his birth. There is also a popular haunted Goa story about the three Portuguese kings who once ruled it. Greedy for power, one of them was poisoned and the other two were killed. This infuriated his subjects, who revolted against the king. Unsatisfied with his actions, the king committed suicide by ingesting poison. Many people believe that the three kings’ bodies are buried beneath the church and that their spirits roam the church and the village.
3. Pari Tibba
Ruskin Bond, a well-known writer, has mentioned Pari Tibba in several of his stories. This haunted location in Mussoorie is vulnerable to lightning strikes because it is nestled among densely forested trees. If you ever visit this location, you will notice numerous burnt trees with grey and black lightning marks. This hill is associated with several stories, one of which is a love story. Two lovers are said to have died here when lightning struck them. Their scorched bodies were recovered after a few days, but their spirits wandered the woods making Pari Tibba one of the most haunted places.
2. Kuldhara
There are two versions of the village’s ghost stories. The first involves love at first sight, while the second is economic. To begin with, Kuldhara town was once home to Paliwal Brahmins who migrated from Pali and settled here about 200 years ago. According to legend, the Chief of the state of Jaisalmer wanted to forcefully marry the village head’s daughter because he fell in love with her at first sight! He even threatened the villagers with dire consequences if the marriage did not occur. The entire village was unanimously opposed to this marriage. To protect their daughters/families from the oppression of this arrogant minister, they left the village and cursed it never to be inhabited again. According to the locals, no one can ever settle there because of the curse, and even if someone dares to spend a night or settle there, he either never returns or experiences paranormal activities!

A tantric wished to marry Rani Ratnawati, the fort’s queen, according to a popular legend. After learning about his evil thoughts, Rani hired a tantric who used to practise black magic at her palace. The fort is where you’ll encounter incidents like a tantric’s ghost shouting, a woman crying for help, and the clinking sound of bangles.
